Limassol Old Town
The Old Town has been built around two thousand years ago by the Romans. This area is a popular tourist destination and is a must visit this historical part of Limassol. Walking through the narrow streets of the Town, you can fully appreciate the spirit and the history of the old city of Limassol.
It is rather easy to get here as it is right in the heart of Limassol. You start from the side of the old port where you can view with the Cypriot version of the Walk.
This part of Limassol is the heart of the old city with narrow streets starting from the old fishing harbour. Walking is the best way to explore this area and discover its long history through the narrow old streets. Some of the main features are its monuments, unique architecture, traditional workshops, the old market and the traditional Cypriot shops.
The centre of the city is full of character and wrapped around the small castle. It continuous into a series of narrow lanes where old houses and some modern shops are on either side. This is an area full of cafes, bars and restaurants that are popular with the locals and visitors. It is definitely a hub of modernity and this, my friends, is Cyprus an international city for business.
This is a holiday with a difference apart from the usual sun and sea. Limassol is at the very heart of one of the island’s richest areas for exploration. Here you are in easy distance to other destinations you wish to visit and have a wonderful holiday.
The historical centre of Limassol is a remarkable place for the cultural program. Every time you visit it is certain you will discover something new for yourself. Newly reconstructed old building or a charming little church which you haven’t noticed before so be alert.
Take your time and explore the area and don’t forget the camera for some memorable photos.
